Sick & Homebound Ministry

The primary function of the Sick and Homebound Ministry is to ensure that parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or age are able to receive Holy Communion from an Extraordinary Minister on a weekly basis. The Ministers (EMs) also provide companionship by spending time with their communicants each week, establishing rapport with other family members, and requesting the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick if indicated. Other EMs may provide the Holy Eucharist on a short term basis such as to parishioners who have been hospitalized, but who will return to full health. Please call the Church Office to request Homebound Service.

Homebound EMS also take Holy Communion to or conduct Communion Services at Brightwater, Covenant Towers, Eagle Crest and Myrtle Beach Manor. They also assist the priest who celebrates Mass once a month at the residences.

The Hospital Ministry carries the Holy Eucharist four days a week to practicing Catholics who are hospitalized at Grand Strand Regional Hospital.
