Pastoral Care
The Bereavement Support Group will resume on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 7 pm in the school library. Anyone who has suffered a loss through death is welcomed to participate. Call the parish office at 448-5930 for more information. Marriage Preparation Engaged couples prepare for the sacrament of matrimony with a couple-to-couple program, When Families Marry. An experienced, trained lead couple works with each engaged couple in a five-session course addressing finance, communication, spirituality, and other pertinent issues. Couples married five years or longer are invited to volunteer in this important ministry. Training sessions are provided for new lead couples twice a year. Special Needs Ministry Among the millions of Americans with disabilities, many have spiritual needs that are not being met. We are in the process of forming an inclusion/ special needs ministry that will offer support and networking to the disabled and the parents of disabled children. Visiting the Sick and Homebound Caring for the sick, the aging, and the frail is an essential ministry of the church. We offer this loving service to those who are unable to attend Mass because of illness or age. This ministry allows people to experience the nearness of God through the presence of the faith community and the reception of the Eucharist. St. Andrew parishioners share in this ministry by bringing the Eucharist to patients in the health care facilities within the parish boundaries and to our homebound parishioners. Updated 9-12-2006 |
