Faith Formation for Adults

Adult Education

Small Faith Sharing Communities are ongoing in our parish with approximately 20 groups meeting in individual homes.  We come together weekly to study and reflect on the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday.

Everyone is welcome to join.  If you are interested in improving your relationship with God and your fellow parishioners, this is a great opportunity for you to increase your awareness of the power of God within us and within others.  You will become more aware of God's presence on a day to day basis.  Contact June Tarangelo.

Great Adventure Bible Study is just that:  A great adventure and journey through the Bible.  This is an exciting learning system that will teach the 14 narrative books of the Bible, and will show you where the remaining 59 books fit into the story.

"The Great Adventure", a journey through the Bible is offered on Sundays after the 9:15 Mass as well as on Thursdays at 12 noon.  This is a 24 week course for adults that will be offered in 8 week segments.  Materials are $36 with pre-registration and $42 with late registration.  Sessions will be held in our new Community Life Center.  All are welcome!

Cursillo

The Cursillo Movement is a worldwide movement begun in Spain in 1949 within the Catholic Church. The overall mission of Cursillo is to make the world more Christ-like through the actions and examples of its members in their church and in the environment in which they live and work.

The Cursillo method begins with a three day weekend. The weekend for men and the weekend for women are held separately, about one month apart. This is followed with the “Fourth Day” programs with weekly group reunion meetings and larger group reunions called Ultreyas. This is the method for “making” a Cursillo for the rest of our lives.

Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process of discernment and education for people interested in knowing more about the Catholic faith, and possibly becoming a member of the Catholic Church. All adults who have not been baptized and wish to become Catholic and those baptized in another Christian faith may participate in this process to come into full communion with the Catholic Church.

RCIA sponsors are needed to support our candidates and catechumens on their faith journeys.
