The dream was 20 long years
in the making. At long last, it’s coming to fruition! We broke ground
for our new Community Life Center on October 9, 2005. We’re looking forward
to its completion in the summer of 2006.
Highlights of our Community Life Center will include:
Our Development Committee has been working on plans with the design/construction
team for over a year now. We are proud to share these plans with you.
Our Community Life Center will have eye appeal inside and out. Careful planning
has been done to assure that our new building and its landscape will flow seamlessly
into our existing architecture.
The building will measure 16,165 square feet. Its interior will feature a gymnasium
large enough for full-court basketball with additional hoops on the sides for
practice. There will be space for bleachers as well as portable staging.
The gymnasium is designed to do double-duty as a large gathering space. It can
accommodate up to 350 people in a dinner setting and 800 to 1,000 people in
an auditorium setting.
The lobby will be large enough to use as a gathering space for activities and
meetings. Restrooms, including a family restroom for those with special needs,
will be located here.
The meeting room will accommodate 150 people for a large function. For smaller
groups, we can divide the room into two separate spaces. We look forward to
using these versatile meeting areas for our ministries, committees, and social
events.
Generous areas for storage will be provided, as well as an office for the coach.
A 1,300-square foot commercial catering kitchen, equipped with a restaurant-style
interior, will enable us to provide hospitality for a variety of functions,
both large and small.
We are confident that the generosity of parishioners and friends will help bring
our Community Life Center and School Renovation Project to completion in a timely
manner!
